The "NWF Network" was a transnational network consisting of organizations from various EU countries. Its primary objective was to gather good practices from all countries regarding non-timber forest products, aiming to create added value and new professional employment opportunities.
It was vital to understand that, for Southern European countries, new prospects for growth and increased employment would emerge through the primary sector and its interconnected activities. This was based on the fact that forests constitute a significant source of wealth (beyond timber) and job creation, provided that the state, local authorities, and private entities collaborate harmoniously with a focus on development
